Session Type:
Tech Session
Presenter(s):

Peter Batty, Ubisense
We will discuss how we developed an enterprise web mapping application for utilities and communications companies that works with complex network data but is extremely easy to use. It uses a mix of open and closed source components, including Google Maps, but we will explain how and why we have moved to using more and more open source components including PostGIS, MapFish and OpenLayers. We will also talk about various strategies for connected and disconnected mobile applications.
As a bonus addition to this session, Jason will also talk about how he built the cool FOSS4G Map using OpenStreetMap data and various open source components include Leaflet, MapFish, PostGIS, TileMill and TileStache.
